Privacy policy
Ultimate Scoreboard is a free, lightweight web tool. We try to collect as little about you as possible. This page explains, in plain English, exactly what happens when you use the site.
The short version
- The scoreboard runs entirely in your browser. Score, player names, and settings are stored on your own device and never sent anywhere.
- We do not ask you to create an account, collect your email, or run our own analytics.
- We do show ads via Google AdSense on the content pages (About, Rules, articles). Google uses cookies to personalize those ads — see below for how to opt out.
- We do not sell or share any data, because we don't collect any.
Information stored on your device
The scoreboard app uses your browser's localStorage to remember:
- The current game (team names, colors, score, point log, player roster, gender ratio).
- Your preference settings (whether to show the gender ratio, whether the scorer-attribution popup is on).
This data lives only on the device you used to play. It is never transmitted to us or anyone else. If you clear your browser's site data, the saved game and settings are erased.
Third-party services
Google AdSense
The content pages on this site display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Measure the performance of those ads.
- Prevent fraud and abuse.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising via www.aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK).

Google Fonts
The site uses fonts hosted by Google Fonts. When your browser loads a page, it may make a request to Google's font servers to fetch the font files. Google may log these requests as part of its standard service operation. We do not have access to that data. See Google Fonts privacy FAQ.
Netlify
This site is hosted by Netlify. As with any web host, Netlify processes basic server logs (such as IP address, user agent, and request timestamp) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Netlify's privacy policy.
Cookies
We do not set any first-party cookies ourselves. Cookies you may encounter on the site come from Google AdSense (described above) and are governed by Google's policies. Most browsers let you block third-party cookies entirely; doing so will not break the scoreboard but may show you less relevant ads.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has been served personalized ads on this site, please opt them out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings or by enabling browser-level controls.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because we do not collect or store any personal information about you on our servers, there is nothing for us to access, modify or delete on your behalf. If you wish to delete the locally-stored game data, you can do so from your browser at any time (Clear site data → choose ultimatescoreboard.org). For data held by Google as a result of viewing ads on this site, please use your Google account privacy controls.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
